8U – Coy Polk Win Triple Crown Baseball Tournament in Euless, TX

The 8U Dallas Tigers coached by Coy Polk won the Triple Crown North Texas Shootout in Euless, Texas, over Memorial Day Weekend.  Well played defense all weekend was the difference.  Congratulations boys!  Way to go!

12U-Woods Take Back-To-Back Championships

12U-Woods Take Back-To-Back Championships With Super Series Regional Win At Bakersfield In Flower Mound

For the second consecutive weekend Coach Kyle Woods and his 12U Tigers left the park with a championship, this time with first place “gold rings”. After a slow start in a pool opener lost to the McKinney Marshals, the Tigers stormed back with 5 victories to claim the championship. The Tigers had to play four games on Sunday beginning at noon with the most convincing win over DBAT-Merle 14-3 in game #2 on Sunday. That was followed by a strong 11-3 victory over the Abilene Dawgs. In the championship against the Waxahachie Marlin, JJ Montenegro battled on the mound scattering 5 hits while Jake Whitbeck closed out the game with the save. The Tiger bats were the story pounding out 10 hits, led by Cole Solomon who was 3 for 4, a double and 2 RBI’s in the championship ring tilt and the 11-7 win. Other strong performances were delivered by Klayton Henderson (8 for 19) and Lance Russell (8 for 14) throughout the 6 games played on the weekend. Congratulations to a terrific month of May for the Tigers that netted Coach Woods group three championships!!

12U Tigers – Ingram Win 13U Super Series in Waco, TX

Linty Ingram’s 12U Tigers played up in the Super Series tournament in Waco.  In Saturday’s pool play, the team tied the XB Outlaws and beat the Belton Tigers.  Sunday’s bracket games started bright and early with a really solid performance (9-1) by the team with very strong hitting and pitching.  The semis proved a little more difficult against the Waco Storm Sox with a 5-2 win.  And the Championship Game was a repeat victory against the Belton Tigers.

This big win for the Tigers gives the team a positive drive to the summer season!

12U Tigers-Woods Are Waco Super Series Tournament Champs

Coach Woods 12U Tigers traveled to Waco recently giving a strong performance as they completed the weekend with a 4-0 mark, coming from behind to defeat the Lubbock Hooks for the championship 6-5. JJ Montenegro had a standout weekend at the plate and on the mound. JJ was 9 for 11 with 2 homeruns and 11 RBI’s. On the mound he was dominating in the first bracket game on Sunday, throwing a 12-0 no hitter against the Dallas Panthers. In the championship, the Tigers battled back from a 5-1 deficit by scoring 3 runs in the 5th to tie the game at 5. In the bottom of the 6th Klayton Henderson’s RBI single with the bases loaded completed the comeback win. Lance Russell came on to pitch in the 4th to shut down the Hooks and earn the win.

Tommy Hernandez Named USA Baseball Regional Director

DALLAS, TX — Dallas Tigers Baseball Club President, Tommy Hernandez, has been named USA Baseball NTIS North Texas Regional Director.

The region includes Dallas, Fort Worth, Lubbock, Waco and points north. Players from across the region will participate in selection events and tryouts with the aim of being named to the Northern Texas’s 13U, 15U and 17U teams. The three teams will then ultimately compete in their respective age groups against 12 other regions from across the country in the NTIS, September 9-11, 2011, at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. From the NTIS, USA Baseball will invite a minimum of 32 players to future 14U, 16U and 18U National Team Trials opportunities with the ultimate goal of being selected to represent our country as part of Team USA. 11U Win USSSA Mothers Day NIT

The 11U Dallas Tigers – Vanlandingham/Coyne won the USSSA Mother’s Day NIT with a 7 – 2 victory over the Keller Knights.  After dropping the opening game in pool play to a tough Southlake Dragons team, the Tigers battled back to win 4 consecutive games and claim their first championship of the spring season.  On Sunday the Tigers put on a great offensive show led by Will Quillen and Brady McBride, and had complete game pitching performances by Ryan Snyder and Rye Gunter.  Congratulations Tigers on a job well done!

12U – Woods wins Super Series Mother’s Day Tournament in Waxahachie

The Tigers had a very strong showing going 5-0 through the weekend. They managed to run rule all but one of their opponents, missing that one by only one run en route to the championship. Davis Green, Garrett Carter, and JJ Montenegro delivered “extra roses” to their moms with home runs in games. JJ pitched a gem in the championship, as well, with a complete game win. Congratulations Tigers!!

14U – Webb Win Mothers Day Tournament in Waxaahchie

14U Dallas Tigers, coached by Drew Webb, won the Super Series Mothers Day tournament in Waxaahchie, Texas. There were no runs given up in bracket play by the Tigers!  Tigers played error-free baseball ball against D-Bat – Hoffpauir and won with a final score of 11-0.  Congratulations Tigers!!

8U Tigers take Runner-up in Rowlett USSSA Tournament

The 8U Dallas Tigers baseball team, coached by Coy Polk, had a great weekend with 5 games that took them into the championship.  They ended the day with a one run loss in the finals that was hard fought.  Overall it is great to have a 5 game weekend and continue to improve as young baseball players.  Nice work boys!

7U Tigers Champions in Rowlett USSSA Tournament

Congratulations to the 7U Dallas Tigers baseball team on going 5-0 this weekend in Rowlett, Texas.  The boys played very good defense and baserunning was outstanding.  They exploded in the championship game with a 17-7 win.  Nice job boys!
