16U Arias to Expand Showcase Roster

baseball tryoutThe 16U Dallas Tigers are expanding the roster to accommodate for a strong college showcase schedule this summer.  This team will get a lot of college scouts attending their games because of talented pitchers and position players. With tournaments at OSU, OU, ORU, Rice, SHSU, UH, TCU, UTA, DBU, LSU, and many more, this team will also be in the right games to get looks.  This roster currently has 5 committed division 1 college players and many others high on the radar of many college coaches.  This summer will be an important season for these players and we hope you’ll want to join their pursuit of getting looks from top college programs.

Primary roster needs are pitchers only and catcher, but highly interested in expanding the roster with infielders and outfielders.

The team is coached by Steve Arias who has instructed with the Dallas Tigers organization since 1995.  Coach Arias has coached countless eventual college and professional baseball players through the Tigers.  Arias is also a local high school baseball coach at Rockwall Heath.

Private tryouts can be scheduled with Tommy Hernandez.  Please call or text to discuss the opportunity and setup a tryout: ‭(214) 697-8315‬ tommy.hernandez@dallastigersbaseball.com

12 Dallas Tiger Teams in Championships this Sunday

The Dallas Tigers Baseball Club represented this weekend across the Dallas Ft Worth Metroplex. Thirteen, yes 12, Dallas Tiger teams were in the championship game of their respective tournaments.

“It isn’t uncommon to have a number of our teams in the finals on same day, but 13 in one day! My GameChanger app started a fire on my phone following all these games,” said Tommy Hernandez, President of the Dallas Tigers Baseball Club.

“So proud for our club kids, their parents, and coaches. What it tells me is we as a club are moving these players forward. Coaches are coaching them up and players are putting in the time to make their teams better. It also confirms we are the go-to club in town to develop players.”

“One of our instructors pointed out that if a team averages 25 plate appearances per game and plays 5 games in a weekend, that is 125+ at-bats in a weekend for 1 team.  This weekend multiply that by 13 …likely over 1,625 at-bats for our guys.  Not to mention, 3 of those championships were Tiger teams playing each other.”

Tommy Hernandez to Coach 14U Team 2015-2016

TigersLogo-204x300Tommy Hernandez will be coaching the current 13U-Woods team as they move into their 14U season for 2015/2016.  Kyle Woods has been afforded the opportunity to be a roving instructor for multiple teams in the club and focus on his current 16U team (soon to be 17U).

“Kyle is a great resource for the club and by having him become a roving instructor for us will benefit a lot of teams and kids in our system.  Plus 16U & 17U seasons for his older guys are very important recruiting periods.  This setup will enable him to focus on his older team and afford the opportunity to help other teams/players,” said Tommy Hernandez, President of Dallas Tigers Baseball Club.  “Just like trying to write out your best line-up, we work to put our instructors in positions where it benefits the club and them the most.”

Steve Arias, a long time Tiger coach & instructor, will assist Tommy with this 14U team as well.  Tommy & Steve have coached a number of Tiger teams together over the last 20+ years, and this will be another great opportunity for these top baseball guys to coach together again.
