The TCU baseball program provided a tour of the facilities in Ft Worth at Lupton Baseball Stadium this past Saturday. Since opening in 2003, the stadium has played host to conference tournaments, NCAA Regionals, and NCAA Super Regionals. In the summer of 2015, construction began on a new Horned Frogs’ locker room, classroom, team lounge, sports medicine center, equipment room and coaches’ offices. The new facility, which was completed prior to the 2016 season, is located down the left-field line. A new state-of-the-art video board was also installed prior to the 2016 season. Additional seating was added behind the right field fence. Shrubbery was cleared out and a four-level terraced seating area was added where the old scoreboard resided.
The hitting facility alone is a 9,000 square foot area that includes four 80-foot long cages as well as indoor pitching mounds, a tee and toss area and the latest in video analysis software. The cage system will allow the coaching staff to maneuver the nets to allow for as many as eight players to hit at once or to set the facility up as one large cage for pitcher vs. hitter simulated games.
“First a huge thanks to Coach Kirk Sarloos for making the time to tour us, but even more how thorough and impressive their baseball operation is,” said Coach Tommy Hernandez. “The ability to bring some of our players to see big time college baseball is special and is part of the development process. Our guys were able to see baseball analytics, sophisticated video, hear about academics, nutrition, equipment, physical therapy, and more.”

Today was a big day in the lives of many young men. The photos they took today with family and friends will be forever looked upon as a an experience like none other. Today was the official National Signing Day 2016 for a number of NCAA sports but most notably for a number of Dallas Tigers baseball players.
“I look forward to national signing day every year …better said, this is definitely my favorite day of the year,” commented Tommy Hernandez, Dallas Tigers Baseball Club President. “This is what it is all about. Young men with the desire and ability to play college baseball getting the opportunity to do so at some great universities.”
“Most of these kids I’ve known since they were 10 or 11 years of age and having the opportunity as a coach to watch them grow up in the club and develop is a dream come true for me every time. We have kids go play baseball at armed services academies, JUCO, baseball powerhouse colleges and everything in between. Having our instructors and club be a platform to support these young men with something they are passionate about …words can’t describe the pride and joy.”
The Dallas Tigers Baseball Club is nationally ranked top 5 program for youth and high school baseball players. Over a 22 year history they’ve sent hundreds of players on baseball scholarships to colleges all over the United States. Even more, in 2015 they had 13 players in Major League Baseball!!
So without further ado, congratulations to the National Signing Day 2016 Dallas Tigers !!!
More to come …
