The 11U Dallas Tigers coached by Chad Polk and Brett Bergman started off the season with a tourney win atTriple Creek Academy in McKinney, TX. The championship game came down to the last at bat to win it. With time expired in the bottom of the last inning Owen Peck leads off with a single to center. Trenton Shaw follows up with a rocket to right field. With runners at 2nd and 3rd, Caleb Bergman knocks in the tying run with an infield single. With Shaw now on third, Kade Sweckard with 2 strikes and the winning run at 3rd hits a line drive to left for the win.
“What I thought was encouraging this weekend was in each game we had different players stand out from game to game. Each player throughout the weekend seemed to have their shining moments,” commented Coach Polk. “As for pitching, I was very impressed with all the boys. Lots of competitive pitches and had some adverse situations they handled really well.”
