The 9U Dallas Tigers team earned a spot again in a baseball tournament championship game against DBat Mansfield. Tigers scored one run early in the top of the 1st inning, but DBat was able to jump out to a 7-1 lead after one inning of play. The Dallas Tigers then made a roaring comeback and outscored DBat 12-6 through 6 full innings, but lost in the bottom of the 6th with 2 outs on a bloop hit over the pitcher, 13-12.
“Getting down early and coming back the way we did says a lot about our team,” commented Coach Polk, “but what happened for our team out here this weekend was exciting. We achieved our #1 goal which is always to improve players through the Tiger system and process, and give them big game experience.”
Coach Polk added “Every player grew today, but the exciting part is we had several that made that jump up to their next level. It’s exciting watching young players progress.”
