Dallas Tigers Vanlandingham won the AABC Regional Qualifier this past weekend to earn a spot in the July Tournament. Strong starting pitching from Garrett Hale led the Tigers to a 13-0 win in game one versus the Arlington Heat Walker. Turner Larkings took the mound in game 2 and struck out 12 in 6 innings to lead the Tigers to a 8-0 win over Frozen Ropes Thornton. The winners bracket game slated the Tigers against DBat Mustangs Guthrie. Michael Kopech struck out 11 in 6 innings and Drew Gooch recorded the save in a 4-1 over the Mustangs. The Tigers were led offensively by a 2nd inning solo Home Run from Parker Mushinski and a 5th inning 2 out, 2 RBI Double by Noah Lee. On Saturday, the Tigers lost to the Arlington Heat 5-3 despite 4 strong innings on the mound from Joseph Heineman, a 2 run Home Run from Noah Lee and 3 Doubles from Garrett Hale. The Championship Game Sunday afternoon was a rematch with DBat Mustangs Guthrie. The Tigers exploded for 3 runs in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings in route to a 10-2 win. The offense was led by Brett Jackson with 3 hits, and doubles by Noah Lee, Joseph Heineman and Cameron Yates. Drew Gooch pitched a complete game, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and striking out 8 for the win.
