OCTOBER 26th, 2020
HOUSTON, TX – October 26th, 2020 – The Dallas Tigers Baseball Club has announced the addition of the newly formed Dallas Tigers Houston (DTH) that will be directed by former Dallas Baptist University (DBU) and Cleveland Indians infielder Bo Hancock! 10u-18u teams forming for Spring/Summer 2021!
The addition of DTH brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from all levels of baseball: 8U through high school, collegiate, and professional levels. We have a combined 30+ years of experience developing Tigers for the next level, and our process has proven itself to be one of the best in club baseball nationwide. With the ultimate goal of developing winning players on and off the field, it will provide players from the Houston area an opportunity to improve their physical, mental, physiological and emotional skills at two different locations. It will also offer players an opportunity to join the new Houston Tigers family and learn in a culture that has produced a number of major league players, as well as countless players who continued to play at the collegiate level.
Bo Hancock graduated from Connally High School in Waco, TX in 1985 where he was a 2-time First Team All-District Second Baseman and voted Super Centex in 1984 & 1985. He attended McLennan Community College (MCC) from 1986-87 and Dallas Baptist University from 1988-89. He still holds the single season stolen base record at both schools. Both his years at MCC, his teams reached the Regional Finals. At DBU, he made two consecutive World Series appearances and was a First Team All-Regional second baseman. He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 1989. After two years with Cleveland, he was released, but declined 3 other offers from the Royals, Giants, and Cubs with the intention to marry his current wife Cindy and start a family.
Bo Hancock has been happily married to his wife, Cindy, for 30 years! He has a 25 year old son, Hunter, and a 20 year old daughter, Madison. Bo resides with Cindy in Katy, TX.
Bo then decided he wanted to share his passion for baseball with the next generation and has been doing so for the past 29 years. He was a graduate assistant coach at DBU. He co-founded and directed the Brazos Wranglers & Blacksox Baseball in the Waco area and has coached with the Waco Storm and Dallas Tigers. Bo can’t wait to begin investing his knowledge and time into our players to help propel them to the next level.
“The Dallas Tigers are so excited to announce that Bo Hancock will be directing Tigers Houston. Bo is a hard working baseball guy that can’t wait to build the Tiger brand in Houston. Looking forward to a big turnout for the tryouts this winter.”
