With only several age groups surviving the rain for Strikes Against Cancer baseball tournament, the 12U Open division was able to play this weekend. The 12U Tigers went 5-0 on the weekend to win Strikes Against Cancer championship in Plano, TX.
Jared Thomas, Josh Hoover, and Owen Peck lead the team in hitting this weekend all hitting over .500. The Tigers also had great pitching performances. In game 1, Walker Polk threw a 1 hit complete game shut-out. Walker threw 41 pitches of which only 10 were balls! In game 2, Jonah McCormack started out strong but got into a jam. Trenton Shaw came in in relief with bases loaded and no outs to strike out the side ending the inning. Finally in game 3, Josh Hoover took the mound to throw a complete game shutout! After 6 innings of work, Hoover racked up 67% strikes!
