Thanks again to everyone coming out to Tiger tryouts!  It was exciting to see this number of kids attending in each age group.  Thank you as well for being flexible on the scheduling with the weekend rain, etc.  We were committed to making this tryout happen.

Your age group instructors provided a timeline for getting back with everyone.  They are working hard to get things finalized and information out to you.  Thanks for your patience.

Tiger Alum, Blake Beavan, Major League Debut

Posted by Dallas Tigers News  |  News  |  Monday July 4, 2011 at 4:05 pm

Former Dallas Tiger, Blake Beavan, makes his first start in the big leagues!

Beavan, who was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday to start in place of injured lefty Erik Bedard, made his MLB debut in style. The 6-foot-7, 250-pound Beavan, who is just the sixth Mariner starting pitcher this season, sported impressive control with a consistent fastball and had the Padres batters generating harmless contact all afternoon. He’s in line for at least one more start, scheduled for July 8 at the Angels.

Blake earned his first career win, and did so in impressive fashion on Sunday, limiting the Mariners to one run on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts over seven frames.

Congratulations Blake!!
