Tiger Shoe Drive Huge Success

The Dallas Tigers Shoe Drive was a huge success with over 1,000 shoes donated to the Shoe Bank.  Pictured is Tommy Hernandez of the Dallas Tigers and Michael Barringer of the Shoe Bank.  The Shoe Bank has just one goal when it was founded in 1989 – to put comfortable shoes on a few hundred homeless men living on the streets of downtown Dallas.  The program today provides shoes for twenty-thousand people every year – primarily children and both here …

Tigers Capture 3rd Place in Connie Mack World Series

Farmington, NM – Cole Green pitched a record setting NO HITTER, 1st in 27 years and only 7 in the Connie Mack World Series in 49 years.  Tant Sheppard, third baseman, also made the 49th grandslam and had another homerun.  Trey Johnson, outfield, with 1 homerun, Cole Green, pitcher, with 1 homerun and 2nd place in the Homerun Derby, Jonathan Kaskow received the Golden Glove Award.  Congratulations Tigers! The 2007 team coached by Linty Ingram tied for 3rd place.

Jonathan Kaskow Named Texas High School Player of the Year

Jonathan Kaskow, long-time Dallas Tiger and Coppell High School’s senior first baseman, has been named the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association – Pro Line Texas Player of the Year.  Jonathan was also awarded District 6-5A Co-MVP, The Dallas Morning News All Area Team and The THSBCA All State Team in both 2006 and 2007.  Jonathan has creceived a full scholarship to Stanford University to play baseball in the prestigious PAC-10 Conference.

Blake Beavens Drafted 1st Round by Texas Rangers

The Dallas Tigers Blake Beavans was drafted in the first round by the Texas Rangers as the No. 17 overall pick.  Blake played in the club for seven years under head coach Linty Ingram.  Blake was recently selected by Baseball America as the National Youth Player of the Year.  As a member of the USA Junior National Team, Blake threw a complete game, 7 hit shut out with 11 strikeouts to defeat Cuba, the defending IBAF Junior World Champions, in …
