15U Dallas Tigers Woods Win Perfect Game 25 NTX Qualifier

The 15U Dallas Tigers Woods won the Perfect Game 25 NTX Qualifier.  The team’s bats caught fire with 43 hits in 4 games and outscoring their opponents 44 to 3.  The tournament win qualifies Dallas Tigers Woods for the Texas Regional tournament next Spring 2014. Great job boys!!!  Congrats on another tournament Championship!

9U Polk Win FMYSA Baseball Season Opener

The 9U Dallas Tigers went into their first tournament weekend eager to get the season under way.  They went 1-1 in pool play and met the Frisco Riders in game one of bracket play.  With the Riders leading most of the game, the Tigers kept scratching back every inning.  Leading into the final inning with time expired, the Tigers found themselves down 7-3.  The boys found a way to score 5 runs to come out on top 8-7 to advance to championship game.

The championship matchup with the Flower Mound Rattlers proved to be back and forth most of the game.  Late in the game, the Dallas Tigers pulled away and went on to win 11-6.

8U Dallas Tigers Finish Strong at AAYBA

Congratulations to the 8U Dallas Tigers for a great season and a fantastic finish!  The boys put in a lot of work throughout the year and their improvement showed on the field.  “This group of boys competed in every tournament and played 4 or 5 games each tournament weekend.  Most importantly we saw tremendous development of every player.  That is all you can ask from these players,” commented Coach Chad Polk.

At the national baseball tournament, AAYBA in Flower Mound Texas, the 8U Tigers went undefeated to qualify for the Platinum division.  After some tight games and close scores they finished the weeklong tournament 4th out of over 40 teams in their age group.  Very proud of these boys.  Way to go Tigers!!!

10U Win Super Series State Championship – Flower Mound, TX

10U Tigers take home the rings by winning the Super Series State Championship at Bakersfield Park in Flower Mound, Texas.  The team ran through some very tough competition with Texas Heat, DBat Addison, and Irving Canes.  The players showed great toughness in winning 2 one-run games in games one and two.  Game three final score was 8-2.

Congratulations boys!  Nice team effort this weekend!

12U-Woods Take Back-To-Back Championships

12U-Woods Take Back-To-Back Championships With Super Series Regional Win At Bakersfield In Flower Mound

For the second consecutive weekend Coach Kyle Woods and his 12U Tigers left the park with a championship, this time with first place “gold rings”. After a slow start in a pool opener lost to the McKinney Marshals, the Tigers stormed back with 5 victories to claim the championship. The Tigers had to play four games on Sunday beginning at noon with the most convincing win over DBAT-Merle 14-3 in game #2 on Sunday. That was followed by a strong 11-3 victory over the Abilene Dawgs. In the championship against the Waxahachie Marlin, JJ Montenegro battled on the mound scattering 5 hits while Jake Whitbeck closed out the game with the save. The Tiger bats were the story pounding out 10 hits, led by Cole Solomon who was 3 for 4, a double and 2 RBI’s in the championship ring tilt and the 11-7 win. Other strong performances were delivered by Klayton Henderson (8 for 19) and Lance Russell (8 for 14) throughout the 6 games played on the weekend. Congratulations to a terrific month of May for the Tigers that netted Coach Woods group three championships!!

8U-Olivas Win Championship at Costume Classic

The 8U Dallas Tigers coached by Tommy Olivas take home championship hardware in the USSSA Costume Classic baseball tournament at Bakersfield Park in Flower Mound.  This is a first year team working hard to improve each tournament.  They achieved their goal of playing 5 games in a weekend.

They went 5-0 on the weekend and defeated the FM Titans 6-5 in the championship game.  Great defense helped the Tigers win a one run game.

Way to go boys!


9U Tigers Earn AAYBA Platinum A Championship Bracket

AAYBA Baseball TournamentThe Dallas Tigers 9U-Polk played some of their best baseball to win 3 straight in the AAYBA tournament in Flower Mound to qualify for the Platinum “A” division bracket.  The Platinum “A” division is the championship bracket where the top 4 out of 44 teams play based on their seeding from the previous 5 games.

“It is exciting for our players to be playing some of their baseball down the stretch, ” commented Coach Chad Polk.  “And to make the top 4 out of 44 teams from around the state is a great accomplishment.  Just dissappointed the weather ended the tournament.”

After battling the weather conditions for a solid week, AAYBA had to cancel the tournament early and the final brackets did not get played.

Tigers 9U-Polk Make 8th Championship Game This Season

Super Series State Championship 2nd place FM

The Tigers 9U-Polk team advanced to yet another championship game in the Super Series State Championship tournament in Flower Mound, TX.

Playing in the National (Majors) bracket they defeated a very good North Texas Titans team 11-5 with great pitching from Garrett Reuben and aggressive baserunning by the whole team.  In the championship game they met up with DBat Addision team and battled the whole game.  The game was tight at 3-0 until the bottom of the 5th inning when the Tigers gave up 5 runs.

“I was proud of our players this weekend because they went out and executed in every aspect of the game.  The experience they are getting by being in the championship game in almost every tournament they play in is irreplaceable, ” commented coach Polk.
