Dallas Tigers BIG National Signing Day

Many of the graduating Dallas Tigers were busy inking National Letters of Intent with their chosen colleges yesterday on National Signing Day!  We couldn’t be more proud of the boys and their years of work to get to this point.  “This is what it’s all about.  Young kids growing up in the program and reaching their goal of playing college baseball,” commented club President, Tommy Hernandez.  “These images speak to a lot of things …family dedication to enabling their son to play at a high level, hard work of individual kids, and a platform built to develop skills, team work, and perseverance.  I look forward to National Signing Day every year, and couldn’t be more proud right now.”

From all the instructors and families in the Dallas Tigers Baseball Club, congratulations boys!!!

11U-Autrey Win USSSA Super NIT

Tigers Autrey had a great day on Sunday out scoring their opponents 29-4 in 4 games in the USSSA Super NIT. The Tigers played great defense and pitched great all day. I was very proud of the boys effort and enthusiasm on Sunday. We started our first game at 8 am and started the last game at 830 pm. It was a full day and a great test to evaluate our strengths and weaknesses. Days like this test your resolve and mental toughness. The boys showed they had both. The Tigers Autrey wrap the fall up with a 16-2 record.

“This is an incredible honor for a 12 year old to get selected as one of the best 25 players in the country.  NYBC World Series is the pinnacle for 12U teams across the country and for Brenden to get selected as an all-star puts him in the category of best-of-the-best,” his coach, Tommy Hernandez, commented.

9U Jared Thomas and Walker Polk Selected as TBS All-Americans

Travel Ball Select (TBS) chose 2 players from the 9U Dallas Tigers for the All-America Team, Jared Thomas and Walker Polk!  Jared was selected based on his offensive performance and as a first baseman.  Walker was selected based on his offensive performance and as a catcher.  Jared and Walker were 2 of only 20 players nationally to make the list.

“The 2013 9U Tigers had a number of players who could have made this list, but for these 2 to make it is a great acknowledgement of their performance.  What the list doesn’t show is how good of team players these kids are.  They both love competing with this team and they’ll be fun to watch grow up over the years,” commented coach Chad Polk.

Congratulations Jared and Walker!
